Results of a Short Geological Study and Reanalysis of Drill-Hole KMSI at Wadi Kamal Cu-Ni-PGM-Au Prospect, Yanbu Region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
J.M. Eberlé, with the collaboration of Abdulaziz Ziab,, I. Salpeteur and A. Genna
The Wadi Kamal prospect, with coordinates 37°48'N, and 24°19'E, is located in the south end of the Wadi Kamal layered complex (fig. 1). The complex lies close to the Red Sea coast, 42 km northwest of the city of Yanbu al Bahr. The prospect consists of a "gossan" of limited size, roughly a few tens of meters large. The prospect area is characterized by a rugged relief, with elevation differences of several hundred meters. This contrasts with the flat Red Sea coastal plain separating the area from the sea. Access to the prospect is relatively easy from Yanbu, along a track from the asphalt road going from Yanbu to Umm Lajj.
